Why you should ... watch Leap Year
Leap Year - A Romance with an Irish accent
“Do
you wanna talk about it?
"Listen,
Bob. You're not in America now, you're in Ireland. So have a drink
and shut up.”
Anna
has been in a relationship for four years. When her boyfriend
presents her with the famous black casket and doesn't find the ring
she hoped for she decides to hop on a plane and visit him as he is
on a business trip a little later to propose to him on the 29th
of February (the title makes sense now, doesn't it?) But as fate has
it, she doesn't land in Dublin but after a storm on a boat ride to
Dingle. To make it to Dublin in time she has to find a
transportation. Declan, the moody and sarcastic owner of a pub,
finally agrees to drive her up. Of course, we can all imagine how
this ends and I'm not going into details but it is a happy ending.
(surprise!)
You
have your typical atmosphere of a romantic movie with good looking
actors, scenic views, a bit of humour, a touch of seriousness, apt
music and of course, the romance.
I
enjoyed the film thoroughly and can only recommend it to you for a
nice Irish evening with a drink of Whiskey!
