Why you should ... read All My Friends Are Superheroes

Isn't the title enticing? And the cover may not be to everybody's taste but I like it. I came across the book in one of Carrie Hope Fletcher's video. Check her out on youtube :)
Now, about the book;
Tom is not a superhero, in contrast to all his friends who have superpowers but they don't have your bog-standard superpowers. You have the frog-kisser who falls in love with losers who become winners once she kisses them or the business man who can see how much money you're worth or the inverse who has never shook his own hand because if you shake his hand the exact opposite of your life flashes before your eyes.
But it's not just about the superheroes. It's a beautiful love story between Tom and his wife The Perfectionist who was hypnotized so that she thought he was invisible while everybody else still saw him in flesh and blood.
Andrew Kaufman wrote a wonderful novel about anxiety monsters, the temptation of laziness and all of these little things in life that make it horrible and marvellous at the same time.
Although it was very short I enjoyed every moment of it and can only recommend it to you.
