Why you should ... watch Downton Abbey

Everybody has heard of Downton Abbey. If not, you have definitely been living under a rock. Definitely.
Downton Abbey is a period drama. Yes, yes, I know how it sounds. But it's the exact opposite. Well, maybe not exact but ...

Downton Abbey is set in the beginning of the 20th century and follows the lives of the residents. The Lords' and Ladies', as well as the footmen's and maids'. The sinking of the Titanic in 1912 causes a lot of problems and distress amongst the family because two of the most potential heirs were on this "unsinkable" ship and not rescued. The eldest daughter couldn't have inherited the title (because obviously she is not a man)  and all the complications are explained in the series.
It may seem boring but it is certainly not. It took a while for me to get into it but I am glad I did. (My collection on WeHeartIt is probably the largest, I'm just saying.)
After a while you come to love each and every character, even those who stir trouble and may seem "evil". They all have their strengths and weakness and indeed very complex. Of course, as professional fangirl I started shipping *beep* and *beep* because who wouldn't? But I am warning you, it isn't called drama for nothing. I was depressed for a whole weekend because of it.
The costume department has done great work and the cast is absolutely fantastic: Maggie Smith (Harry Potter, The Quartet, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Nanny McPhee and Becoming Jane are only a few I have seen and loved her in) , Hugh Bonneville (The Monuments Men, Paddington), Penelope Wilton (Doctor Who, Cry Freedom, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) and many, many other actors and actresses.
I would also like to mention the music because film music is one of my favourite music genres. After having watched a few episodes I immediately googled the sheet music and found the suite which made me extremely happy. Then about two months later bought the CD to it and listen to it very often. It's absolutely beautiful. And once again I am running out of positive adjectives. Please just watch it.

To explain the difficulty again why it is hard to show how wonderful this show is:

Anyway, I hope I could at least make you curious about it because it is ABSOLUTELY worth it.

Au revoir, little biscuits (*dancing around in the costumes of the 20s*)
