Why you should ... read The House of Silk

The House of Silk however is as Horowitz himself quotes (one of his) best work(s). It is written from the perspective of old Dr. John Watson as he looks back on his adventures with Sherlock Holmes. It begins like so often with a man coming to 221B Baker street for help and quickly exciting but murderous events unfold.
What I have always liked about Arthur Conan Doyle's books and characters is that they deal with human nature in so many fascinating ways and delve into the deep dark sides of human nature.
You can recognize Sherlock's character at once - the arrogant and sarcastic genius who you can't help to like and goodhearted John Watson. I particularly liked that Anthony Horowitz stayed true to the story in many aspects.
It did take me a while to read the book but that was only because I had very little time and at the end I actually did hold my parents up because I had to know what happened next! And the revelation at the end was quite surprising and unnerving ...
And before I forget: the cover isn't bad but I don't like the neon colour on the spine. Moriarty on the other hand is a jewel in my book shelf, it's so pretty.
Thumbs up for The House of Silk and Moriarty!
Au revoir, little biscuits (*freaking out about a Johnlock tumblr post*)
